I'm certainly not a tech whiz. I want all the cool features, but I also expect my electronics to be truly user-friendly; I don't want to go digging for the manual all the time. That's what I like best about this frame—it is packed with features, but you can choose your level of involvement. If you're like me, you can use the Quick Access controls for quick, easy operation, right out of the box. (And if you want to get fancy and explore every option in detail, you can do that too!)

The frame has lots of features, the manual tells you how to turn them on/off, but does not tell you what they do. For example, during a slide show, you can turn on "dynamic lighting". I tried it and could not see any difference. I went to the manual to see what it was supposed to do, but all I could find was instructions for turning it on or off.

Demo in stores is misleading - it shows slide shows mixed with videos. This can only be done if convert slide shows to video. I used Windows Movie Maker to add pictures and music. Then I used a program called Wondershare to convert it to the MPEG2 format(that was the only format that worked to show videos). When numbering pictures need to start with 01a-01z,then 02a-02z and so on to keep slides in right order. So if you have some actual videos and want to mix with slide shows you can accomplish that by numbering each segment as 01, 02, etc. and using the video function on the picture frame. The Wondershare program can be used for free but it leaves a watermark on your created video(you need to buy the program to make videos in the MPEG2 format without the watermark). I could only get 3 musical choices to play with slide show when using that function of the picture frame. Once you know how to do it, this picture frame works really well. Unfortunately the manual and Brookstone are not very helpful if you are trying to do combination videos and slide shows.

I was very satisfied with this frame. It wasn't easy to find an attractive wood tone digital frame in this size. Packaging was very sturdy and secure.
My one problem is that there isn't a way to 'segment' photos by subject. It takes an extremely long time to cycle through so many and I didn't put more than about 5% of capacity on the frame for my mom.
All in all, a very good purchase!
