I purchased it primarily because its display is OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode)-based, rather than backlighted LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)-based -- I wanted so much to perform spectroscopy of the OLEDs in this product for my website (The LED & Laser Museum), but I loved it so much that it now goes everywhere with me, and is even on my night table when I go to bed.
The only thing I've noted that can go wrong is that the window protecting the screen can become cracked by the keychain attachment (when carried in a pants pocket every day for weeks & weeks); removing it will totally eliminate the possibility of this ever occurring.
Windows XP automatically launches a program called, "PhotoViewer" when this product is connected to the compter and "USB Connect" is selected from the photo keychain's display; this program is surprisingly easy to use even without ever having run the program before or reading any inatructional materials for it. The only thing that even mildly p***es me off is that the images are automatically cropped, unless their X- and Y- axes contain the same number of pixels -- e.g., 400x400. But that is a very easy thing to do in pretty much any image viewing software such as IrFanView, which is freeware. Do that before uploading images to the photo keychain (that is, crop them yourself how ***YOU*** want them cropped), and none of your important picture elements can become lost.

The unit performs the job it was designed for. It holds approximately 100 photos and allows you to display them. The screen is small, just over one inch square. So, those sweeping vistas of your vacation at the beach will be less than impressive. The best images to display are simple close-ups with good contrast. The resolution is acceptable for the low cost, but suffers from a lack of brightness. This adds to the difficulties with far away shots. You will also have problems viewing your photos in bright light. So, it's best to stick to viewing indoors or in the shade.
The accompanying software is very basic, allowing for minor adjustments to your images. Some people have complained of problems running the software. However, I was able to install and run the software on my G4 Mac without any problems. (So far) My big issue with the software is the lack of online support. There is no way to download the software if you lose it and no effort is made to provide bug fixes or updates. Brookstone support seems to be completely MIA.
The bottom line is, the unit is inexpensive, compact and will display about 100 photos with acceptable quality. If you're looking for support, outside of a return or purchase, then you're SOL. On a scale from Tic-Tac to filet mignon, this product is strictly a digital Twinkie.

Wanted for family pictures and the device worked with my work PC using XP but when I brought it home to use with my Windows7 PC I had problems. The device comes up as a CD for a few seconds and then closes. I am looking using My Computer. If I cannot get this working I will have to return this. I am very disappointed.

I followed the instructions to start using the keychain, but the "plug-and-play" software did not download to my computer. Instead, it downloaded to a CD drive, and was non-functioning. I can't find any fixes for this online, and will likely return the item.
