David Wells had two tenures as a pitcher with the New York Yankees spanning 1997-1998 and 2002-2003. Wells won the World Series with the Bombers in 1998 and earlier that same year on May 17 in a game against the Minnesota Twins he threw the first perfect game by a Yankees pitcher since Don Larsen in the 1956 World Series. Wells went on to win another World Series with the Blue Jays in 1992 and was still pitching in 2007, this time for the San Diego Padres.
David Wells has hand signed this official MLB baseball and added the special inscription 'PG 5-17-98.' A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
