I got this piece of luggage as my carry-on, because I was tired of people crushing my stuff trying to fit their own bags in the overhead bins. This piece of luggage did not disappoint! It took a ton of abuse, and nothing in my bags felt anything. I would put money on the fact that you could transport babies or pets in these bags and they would get to their destination just fine. The teenager took it for a 4-day school trip, traveling by private bus. When she returned home this morning, the extendable/collapsible handle was broken: screws missing, tube caught in the case and unable to access. With no hope of reattaching the handle just for safety's sake, it is essentially a useless, expensive carry-on. I'll stick with my inexpensive Walmart soft-sided bag that I've had for 5 years. The Brookstone bag was my favorite travel tool until the teen got hold of it. I've had the bag just six months: 5 international flights and 4 US flights, but a teenager killed it.

I loved this bag for frequent short business trips. It stores 2 Eagle Creek packing cubes perfectly and still has half the suitcase left for shoes, etc. It is such a light piece of luggage that it is easy to put up into overhead bins. I loved the spinner wheels for about a year, then they started getting difficult to push on airport carpet. After about 18 months of use (2 trips per month) The screws holding the handle together stripped and left me in the airport unable to push my bag. I would pay more to have the same lightweight bag with more durable wheels and handle.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas because he had complained about how he kicked other bags when he pulled them because of the short handle and his height. He likes having the option of pulling this one or pushing it beside him. It's also easy to differentiate between other bags and has a fairly high capacity for its size. The only concern we have about the bag is the handle does seem rather wobbly at full extension but we have family that has used this bag for more than two years and they haven't had any issues with it breaking.
