Purchased four of these last year after Christmas. I put these up after Thanksgiving this year using the timer mode and they looked beautiful. Unfortunately that didn't last long. Before this Christmas season was over, I had put three sets of Duracell batteries in two of the garlands and the third garland needed batteries replace about a week before Chrismas, which I didn't do. The timer mode didn't turn them off a couple of nights on two of them. Only one lasted through the season without issues. Great idea, beautiful when first installed, but really disappointing when it doesn't last.

Quality of the "greenery" not as realistic as anticipated (for the price) and there is a very small amount of lights. I did love the initial bright LED lights and the timer works perfectly. However, after barely 2 weeks, the lights are VERY dim.....and because I placed the garland up high (the reason for the prelit with a timer) is too much of a pain to change out the batteries on this, the day after Christmas. I wish I had returned these items immediately.

No outdoor electrical receptacle. Work railroad 24/7 with no set hours. Grand daughter wanted lights at gamma's house. Ordered some elsewhere of inferior quality for more money. Ordered garland and tree from Brookstone, was so pleased with the quality, took down the "other stuff" and replaced it all with Brookstones merchandise. Batteries last LONG time, self timers are a blessing since I have no work schedule, and they look GORGEOUS!!! Gave one as a gift. Will definetly order from them again. Happy Holidays :)

I ordered 2 garlands for my front door light fixtures. Set the timer, per printed directions, to enjoy 6 hours of the lights, then expected them to turn off. Surprise!! That did not happen. Had to do that manually. Plus, the control knob did not seem to have any relation to the appropriate arrows. Just a waste of money I am sorry to say.

I hung 2 Walkway Trees, 2 Wreaths and 12 garlands on my house last year and they looked amazing. A very classical way to light up your entire house without scaling rooftops, climbing gutters and running extension cords. They give of a warm, bright light---not that awful LED blue. And it's so great and freeing to not have to run cords to every unit. And the batteries lasted the entire season of 5-hour days without replacement.

Now the problems. I sent 9 of the 16 units I purchased back for replacement. Two didn't work out of the box. Three main issues:
THE BATTERY COMPARTMENTS LEAK EASILY. Once this happens, the units are useless. Drying them out doesn't work. Snow, even light rain get in with little problem.
THE WIRE GAUGE IS THIN AND FLIMSY. Inexplicably, 1-2 garlands go off. Jiggle them just right and they go back on. Problem is, now they're off-sync with the rest of your display.
THEY'RE TOUGH TO MOUNT. The garlands don't want to sit on a typical 4-6-inch sill. You will have to tie or staple them. Makes the job a bit less convenient, but not a huge issue.

Now the upside. Brookstone was an absolute delight to work with on the defective product returns. They reimbursed me when the product prices plummeted within 14 days of purchase, and the customer service reps were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful... and they spoke English! I can't say enough great things about them. I don't mind paying a little more when you get great service and product support like this.

Use these indoors or in warmer climates and I bet you'll be okay. I plan to hang these outside again this year, but this time I'm going to put baggies and duct tape discretely around the battery compartments to see if they'll last. Hard to recommend these for Midwest outdoor use without a lot of caveats.

We didn't get a chance to put the garlands up outside this holiday season...but we can't wait until the next. We bought the ones with red lights...and they have such a great, warm holiday feel.Additionally, we had some trouble, perhaps wiring...but the customer service was so incredible...they sent out new ones straight away...[...] Then they provided the mailing labels to send the faulty ones back!! Couldn't ask for better customer service!! :)

The easiest decorating looked most beautiful. I haven't done my mantle in years-what used to take hours and lots of extension cords was so easy with the prelit garland. I used two on my mantle and they fit perfectly. Best of all, no cords. Stayed lit around the clock for about a week, so I changed the batteries and enjoyed a second week. I used cup hooks under the mantle's edge to hold the garland with no problem. Garland is full and natural looking and LED lights are just right.
