This advanced technology gives you more real-flight maneuvers and battle action. Using infrared laser technology, the copter “shoots” other Combat Copters. Aim the front of your helicopter at your enemy’s copter, either head on or broadside, and press the shoot button on your remote. Did a light blink on your enemy’s copter? You got ‘em! Side counter lights illuminate with each “hit” and keeps track of hits taken from your opponent. Each hit causes the copter to spin. After a third “strike,” the defeated copter slowly spirals to a landing and inactivates the remote control. Game over. The downed helicopter will recover and reset after a few minutes and be ready for the next dogfight.

I didn't like it at first but now I love it. I've crashed this heli into everything trying to land it on small ledges, speakers and my wife's head, this thing can take a beating. Lack of wall charger is a drag cause it uses the batteries (6AA) in the remote, but it charged/flew for about 3 whole days and I used it a lot. If it came with a wall charger I'd give it 5 stars. If you are having trouble using two choppers, sync them to their remotes in separate rooms and you won't have a problem. Also the directions don't explain it very well; turn remote on, turn heli on, push left thumb stick all the way up and all the way down, the red light will turn solid, now as you push the left thumb stick up it will take off. My wife could fly it on the first try, now we resolve all of our marital disputes with helicopter dogfights!

Received as a Christmas gift to battle with brother in-law. Easy out of the box start-up charge and fly. Had no problems with frequencies. Flew very stable and precise. The comlete battle round is sufficient to 5-7 minutes of flight time per charge. Takes 20 minutes to re-charge. Operates and battles as described. Heli is very durable bouncing off walls and falling to the ground as long as it doesn't hit anything solid such as tile or counter tops. Battery in conroler last less than 1 week about 15-20 charges.
I would have given this a better rating but the longevity of the internal plastic gears are pressed on and will loosen or wear out causing slippage and the blades to not get to thier maximum power. I've taken them apart and glued them into place and that has fixed the issue. The spare parts do not come with a spare landing gear. Outdoor flight it loses control with the transmiter even at a short distance. Kept falling out of the sky unpredictably and managed to break off a landing gear. One less landing gear eliminates taking off from the ground. Replacement landing gears would be nice but you you can only fix it by opening the heli's body. They are screwed on from the inside.
So bottom line, expensive toy to only work great continously for 1 week or a set of batteries. Unless you can tinker with things, this is not recommended.

These are amazing!! We have bought so many helicopters that didn't last 5 minutes. These helicopters hold up to there value. My nephew loves them!! He was ran them into the walls, people, the ceiling fan, and they are still holding up. Not one broken part! He has has them since Christmas. I would recommend them to anyone!!

I bought the helicopter as a Christmas gift for my 18 year old son, at his request. It didn't arrive in time for Christmas - my fault -- but I handed him a picture from the website on Christmas with a note that said, "soon!" It arrived two days later and he started to put it together immediately. I'm told by both him AND my daughter that it's working as expected and he's having a lot of fun with it. It's not always that easy to find the right gift for someone at Christmas but this one was a snap. Thanks!

When fully charged, rises powerfully & quickly. Rotation easily controlled. Forward and backward movement slightly more difficult to control. Haven't had a combat dogfight using the IR. Charging cord is a little short. All in all, much fun to be had with this helicopter. Puts a smile on my face everytime I take-off.

This is an indoor toy, not an outdoor toy. It is very entertaining. I would like to purchase more for my daughter and husband. The only downfall is I have a dog that likes to jump on moving objects but he has been pretty good with this helicopter. I got this on sale which helped a lot plus someone gave me a gift card so no money was actually spent. I hope there are no parts that go missing or I might need replacements.
