Reverse sound technology--better performance and protection
The 'reverse' refers to the earbuds' speakers, which direct sound waves away from the ear and then bounce them back into the ear canal. The sound quality is one of the best I've seen for the price (I've compared with some at $45+ from sony and toshiba). Is comfortable and I prefer to the "bud" or "inner-ear" typce since I do alot of exercising.
One draw back is that the connection between the wire and the jack/plug is susceptable to fraying. Not likely to happen in the short-term if you're using for casual use, but for exercising or outdoor use...I'd reconsider.
I might also provide various size ear pieces for comfort adjustment.

Initially I was very pleased with this product. Having small ears, I have trouble finding earbuds that fit me & stay in place. These are comfortable and stay snug during skiing, running, and sleeping. But after just a few weeks, the wire came loose from the input jack... it still played alright but required duct tape to secure. And now one of the soft clear pieces fell off one of the earbuds, so now it doesn't stay in my ear! Apparently Brookstone doesn't offer replacements! Bummer!!

I used the headset when I ran. They seemed very durable, fit well and the sound was great. However, they only lasted a couple months which was way too short. I am trying another pair and hoping the other was just defective, since I did like them.

I had a long layover at O'Hare and wound up in the Brookstone shop looking at all of their various gadgets. My husband is a runner, and he ONLY likes headphones that clip over the ears. We have gotten him (and returned) various pairs over the past couple of years, including wireless Bluetooth headphones that he didn't like. He is very picky - they have to be comfortable, they have to be very secure for running, they have to not get nasty when he sweats, etc. He is an audiophile so they have to sound amazing, too. I got him these on a whim, even though I thought he will probably not like them, he doesn't like ANY headphones, lol! Well, he LOVES these. He calls them the "perfect headphones" and has been telling everyone to get them, including his mom! He is so happy that he finally has the "perfect" headphones - he says they sound great and fit all of his needs, he says they blow the $90 headphones we got (and returned) out of the water. I never review things, but I had to come on here and review these because I feel like I finally hit the jackpot with these! He's been complaining about headphones for years and now I don't have to listen to it any more!!! Thank you!

I've tried almost every headphone on the market from super cheap to very expensive and found nothing that compares to the all-around greatness of these for working out. They are comfortable, stay in place and last through the years!

I listed cord too short as a con because sometimes when I am at work and have my Ipod in my desk or have the earphones plugged into my computer tower I wish they were maybe 6" longer. For Ipod use in the pocket or strapped to your arm I wouldn't want a longer cord. These things are awesome for the price, I don't know why anyone in their right mind would pay what some ear bud headphones cost.
