Our only complaint is that there is currently no bracket for a 5th generation ipod nano. Still, you can use a 5th gen ipod nano, without problems but it will be nice if Brookstone has one manufactured soon.
Otherwise, this is an excellent player for the price and produces a superb, full bass with decent midrange tones. It is surprising clear and pleasant, even at loud volumes. It can produce crisp sound in a large room, with undistorted music; it is compact and easily portable. We used it at a holiday party in a school gym. Most boom boxes cannot handle a noisy auditorium but this did great, even when operating it only on battery power.
It works so well, you can hear the poor audio quality of many I-Tunes purchased music (something Apple is trying to improve). However, personally owned CDs, played through an I-pod will sound almost as good as many Bang and Olson or Bose players that cost at least 3 times the price This Brookstone is a definite recommended buy that provides a much appreciated higher quality fidelity and functionality than others.
So far, the miniature remote works and has a nice storage space in the back. Also, the boom-box has very good I-pod controls letting the user scroll through playlists and select songs (in some ways easier than messing around with the somewhat awkward I-pod control wheel) without having to touch the I-pod (which is secured in an easy to access closed compartment).

I use it daily for music in my room and then I can take it out to my deck and it plays on Batteries for backyard BBQ's. The sound is great and for the price you can't beat it. It was worth it at the regular price. The remote works really good for being so small and it charges my Ipod touch 4th generation when pluged into the AC sorce.

Good value, sounds fine, nice features. Would only change a couple of things.

I have an IPod Touch, and this product works better than expected. I've had the unit about a month and used it outside in the back yard, garage and in the parking lot at the local mountain bike park. It sounds good and plays plenty loud. I've had zero function problems, but the bass is a little weak and there are no separate tone controls. Based upon a couple of problem postings, I bought the extended warranty for 10 bucks, which is something I seldom do.

I like it, but I've just purchased a 5th Generation iPod and there are no clips for holding the iPod in place. I was looking for an Ipod docking speaker system I could use whenever I was doing work outside. I came across this boombox (it never occurred to me to look for a boombox as a solution) and I thought it was perfect. From the moment I plug it in and played it I loved the sound. Plus, I really like the fact that the Ipod is enclosed and protected when mounted to the unit. It feels solidly built compared to others I checked out and the price can't be beat. I'm very please with this purchase. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars (Perfect)
is that it is not rechargeable and no equalizer for bass, mid-range and treble---that would make it perfect. My co-workers saw and heard it and it piqued their own interest in getting one.

This plain ROCKS! I had been looking for an iPod docking portable sounds system for over a year so I could have music with me mostly for outdoor activities. After much research and reading reviews, I went back to this one I had seen at a Brookstone store in the mall. When my wife gave it to me yesterday for an early Fathers Day present (she wanted me to have it for the BBQ competitiion I have this weekend) I docked my iPhone turned it on and WOW--this thing sounds even better than I remember in the store. For the price they have it at now, I don't think it can be beat. The controls are very intuitive especially if. Ever had a clcik wheel iPod and the attached remote is a very nice touch. The ONLY thing that would make this better would be a built-in rehargeable battery as I'm sure I'm going to go through D cells pretty quickly this summer!
