The mahogany finish had voids around two of the shelves which I touched up with a furniture touch up stick. The instructions for assembly left something to be desired but consistent with other China manufactured diagrams. Once assembled, it looked pretty nice and will work to reduce the clutter.

The 'warp-resistant wood' appears to be veneered MDF. This is a perfectly reasonable material choice, but be aware that the shaped edges of the top and base are NOT veneered, but are just sealed MDF painted or stained to match the basic color of the veneer. It's decent-looking, but a far-cry from a proper hardwood edge, which is what I would have expected at this price.
Assembly was easy; the piece is solid with no wobbles. The only disappointment is those shaped edges. I'd have given it another star if they'd used a real wood edge for the shaped portions.

I use multiple laptops in my work and wanted this to store them close to my main work area. WOW! But quickly needed it to hold seven copies of documents while being assembled and before they were mailed. WORKED! And I see it will hold my active projects (paperwork, CD/DVD, exhibits, drafts) close to main work area, visible, and better than a plastic sort bin. It is a sturdy, attractive piece. My problem in assembly was I thought the bottom had the decorative base, but it was easy to reverse. I bought for an office and it works well. I want another unit already!

This table fits perfect into our living room. We do not have a coffee table, this table holds all our heavy coffee table books as well as a few photo albums. Looks great and was much easier to assemble than other feedback notes.
