Power went out last night for the first time since I purchased these and the whole room was lit up nicely where I could see perfectly to get around. Excellent. I'm purchasing more for other rooms. I am very pleased. I had used these outside as flashlights before and liked the ease of the product. I'm very pleased!

on removal from packaging, unit gave off a strong plastic odor - this dissipated somewhat after wiping with a cleaner - unit still gives off odor - the first one of these I purchased some months before did not give off this odor - perhaps the material it is made of has been changed
additionally, the battery type is not marked - this is important for airline travel ie: lithium battery restrictions vs nicad, etc
