It’s easy to connect with the Big Blue Studio Wireless Speaker. Start by activating your device’s Bluetooth function within 33 feet of the Big Blue speaker. (Not sure how? See your device manufacturer’s instructions.) Then turn on the Big Blue speaker. When its blue LED ring flashes, the speaker is ready to connect. Select “Big Blue” on your device. The speaker’s LED changes to solid blue when the wireless connection is made. And once you’re connected, Big Blue remembers your device so you’ll always be ready to rock.

I was looking for a good-looking, high quality AirPlay speaker for quite a while. Until now, all the other models were priced upwards of $300 – money which I simply did not have. Seeing this on the front cover of the catalog sent me straight to my local Brookstone Store. Its sound is actually better than any stereo I've ever heard (including the $300+ models) – it's probably even better than theater quality. The sound is unaffected when streaming from iPod, but there is a small sound delay when watching movies on my MacBook Pro. I would also want the volume to be adjustable entirely on the device with a secondary knob or slider or something else to gauge the volume. It can also get a bit annoying if you have multiple devices. All criticism aside, I was thoroughly amazed at both the sound quality and the richness of the sound. The unit is also sleek and sturdy, and it fit nicely on the shelf I built for it. If you want to use your device while listening to theater sound, this is definitely for you.

The beep regime upon shutdown of input from my system (a laptop) is obnoxious and loud even if the computer volume is reduced to zero before shutdown. There should be a way to mute the shutdown/connection beep system or at least much reduce its volume. Also, the Big Blue Studio will not automatically connect to the laptop (a new MacBook Pro) without additional menu call-up and/or prompting. I want a system that will stay connected and simply perform when the laptop is fired up. I don't want to constantly mess with settings, etc. Again, the inflexible beep system is highly irritating.

I compared Big Blue with Jambox and Sonos. All three were great products without any obvious flaws. I almost bought the Sonos even though it was more expensive. But in the end, I bought the Big Blue and liked it so much I bought another for my daughter. She's a teacher and uses hers at home and takes it to school. I'd guess hers is used 16 hours a day without a problem. Mine is used in the kitchen and then spends it's summers outside on the porch. I could not be happier.

I use this for every home gathering, and for cranking the music when I'm in the kitchen cooking. Very powerful sound. Every loves it! Wish it had a remote control. Besides that I am very pleased with this purchase.

Overall a great product that does everything its intended for well. I really like the big blue light in the center, it makes it look very cutting edge. I do wish however that it came with a remote and a sleep timer. Maybe next product?

Had it a few days, super easy, sounds good, better than others in it's class IMHO. The only thing i don't care for is it does not hold the previous volumne setting when stop and start again...You need to use the touch buttons to regain last desired volume setting?, not a biggie, but surely an oversight.

easy to set up and pair. Good volume, sound is ok. Does have tone control in back. Would've liked clearer sound, better separation. Overall, for my office an small work area, it is fine. remote would be a nice feature.
