For the price, size, weight and sound I have not found a better speaker for traveling. Great for hotel rooms, sitting by me at the beach or pool or in a small conference room as we are preparing meeting materials. I travel a lot and have used a bunch of portable speakers. In the end they are generally too heavy or too lame on sound. This is the best compromise I have found - very good sound in a incrediably small package. Blue tooth connectivity is very good. Setup is a bit fidgety but okay. Has master power button on the back (good to know it is truly off when packed). However the top on/off button is a pain to use. With all that said I am still very happy to own this unit on the road. Speaker placement when using it is critical to getting the best sound - look to place on hollow wooden/metal boxes like file cabinets, book shelves or dressers - better bass response and overall sound reproduction.

Doesn't Connect w/ Android Build Eclair
My wife bought me this for my birthday. Unfortunately, this speaker is not compatible with android build Eclair. The phone can see the Big Blue device, but cannot connect. The error message reads...Read complete review
My wife bought me this for my birthday. Unfortunately, this speaker is not compatible with android build Eclair. The phone can see the Big Blue device, but cannot connect. The error message reads "paired but not connected". During the pairing process there is a pop up window that asks to "confirm the password." The only two options are accept and decline. If you click accept, you never get the opportunity to enter the PIN or password (which I understand is 0000). If you click decline, then you are booted from the connection process. We have searched tirelessly for a solution, but there is no evidence of one. I would not recommend this speaker based on the connectivity issues. (Ironically, it connects fine with my wife's ipad and her android that is running the Froyo build.)

Pretty awesome little box! I never seen a small speaker pack so much punch. Feels very well made and solid. I haven't run out of power since using but I charge nightly. Makes my music and iPad games come to life and compact enough I can lay it on my pillow. No wires makes it extra awesome.

I am amazed at the big sound this gives off. I had no issues connecting my Nokia Lumia 900 or my Microsoft SurfaceRT to it. If you want compact and good sound quality, go for this. You won't regret it.

I'm 56 and a real music junkie. I have a couple thousand MP3's on my smartphone and ipod. My Daughter bought this for me for Christmas, I took a look and thought "Cool, but something this small can't sound that great, right?"
Well it does, you have to do a double take to see what is making the awesome sounds. For it's size, it rocks. When I turn it up, there is so much bass that the unit will vibrate across the desk if you don't hold it with something.
I have yet to run the battery down, I have played it for hours and still don't know how long the battery life is. I usually plug it back in when a convenient power source appears.
I understand Brookstone has some larger models too, I would be surprised if they were not that much better!

I bought this speaker after it was recommended to me by a friend, and was very happy with the sound quality right out of the box. However when I attempted to use the Bluetooth feature, the speaker did not go into pairing mode. I have tried charging it to full (several times) because that is what Brookstone set as the requirements for the speaker to go into pairing mode, but to no avail. I have been using it with the auxiliary connection and have been very happy with that quality, but I am disappointed that I bought a speaker with Bluetooth capabilities that do not work.

Very disappointed in the sound quality. My expectations were realistic, but this falls way short. I should have spent the extra money and purchased the jawbone. My dad has the jawbone and the sound quality is much better. Also the Bluetooth connection is fickle. Switching between iPhone and iPad is not something the blue box does well.
