I have a fireplace and hate cleaning out the ashes. I was really excited about this product because I thought that if cleaning out the fireplace was easier then I would use it more often. Unfortunately this product doesn't work very well. The filter clogs up every 10 seconds making the vacuum useless. You spend more time trying to fix the vacuum then it would take to sweep up the ashes the old fashioned way. Save yourself some money and skip this vacuum. Maybe in a few years the technology will advance so that it doesn't lose suction but for not just get yourself a metal bucket, a good hand broom and a big dust pan.
