My wife and I enjoy wine for our evening dinner and now we can spread the bottle over two days knowing that the second day is as good as the first. Batteries are dead after six or seven uses of the pump. I have not heard the pump start on its own and when I turn on the pump manuallly, it always begins to pump, indicating it does not get all the air extracted. After the second day, the wine is losing taste.

Anyway, I love the way people buy something new and immediately write a glowing review before they have really had a chance to see what the product is really like. I am assuming that this is the case for all the good reviews. The truth is that this product will go through massive amounts of batteries before totally giving up in about a year. Don't waste your money.

My husband got this for me for Christmas last year. I had to put fresh batteries in it every time I used it, even though I took the batteries out when not in use. Tonight I tried to use it again and, again, it didn't work. So I put in fresh batteries expecting it to come on but it wouldn't work. I opened another new pack of batteries but it still won't come on.I've just thrown it away. This product is obviously defective. I love Brookstone but they shouldn't be selling this product.
