I need to preface this by saying that I have not actually used this particular model. However, I purchased an older model for my mother as a gift several years ago and she/we have had great luck with it. My mother is a skeptic so it took some convincing to get her to use it, once she did, she loved it. I have spent the last two days researching and reading reviews on automatic wine openers (because I want one for myself) and I have been so discouraged reading all of the negative and mixed reviews of other products. I'm afraid to buy anything BUT a Brookstone product. If this opener is made as well as the older model, we will not be disappointed.

This is the 3rd wine opener I have had that performs this function. The main reason I purchased this one was the built in foil cutter as I still had a functioning wine opener. Very disappointed because the foil cutter only works on some wider lipped bottles so I kind of feel it was a waste of money because I already had 1 that worked. It opens the bottles just fine...no better or worse than the other 2 I have used.

This product is awful! It's a joke that just doesn't work!! Tried it several times and ALWAYS have to resort to the $1.50 corkscrew opener we bought at he grocery store! Save your money! Buy a talking Plush toy! At least you can laugh!

my boyfriend bought this for me as a third attempt to a christmas gift a couple years ago. it was the first electric opener we got to work more than once. i've had it since and its continued to work perfectly! we loved it so much that i bought him one too this past christmas. i would recommend to anyone looking for something that truly works and is worthwhile.

This product is horrible. The first one we bought broke on the second bottle of wine. We returned it and, again, it stopped working on the second bottle of wine (i.e. would not bring the cork back down after opening). We returned the second one and decided to look elsewhere for something better.

I bought this product in June of 2012. It worked very well for 6 months. Now the battery will not hold a charge. It advertises opening 50 bottles on a single charge, I doubt it ever opened 50 total. It is supposed to have a one year warranty. Make sure you save your receipt and box - you will need it.
