I need to preface this by saying that I have not actually used this particular model. However, I purchased an older model for my mother as a gift several years ago and she/we have had great luck with it. My mother is a skeptic so it took some convincing to get her to use it, once she did, she loved it. I have spent the last two days researching and reading reviews on automatic wine openers (because I want one for myself) and I have been so discouraged reading all of the negative and mixed reviews of other products. I'm afraid to buy anything BUT a Brookstone product. If this opener is made as well as the older model, we will not be disappointed.

After fully charging this device and reading the instructions I found that this device could not cut through foil seal nor remove the cork, only chew it up. A total waste of money.

Absolutely love this! It is so effortless you can't even tell it's pulling out a cork. Used it on both natural & synthetic corks and works great on both. Built in foil cutter is nice but that isn't automatic, you just twist the bottle under it. Must have if you have problems pulling out the cork yourself(like my wife) :)

Makes opening any wine bottle a snap. Once you figure out how to use the device it is a must have addition for any wine drinker. The opener was a Christmas gift. We had a large crowd of relatives and friends. Once we learned how to use the opener, eight bottles of wine were open in a flash.
