The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is that I think it should be mentioned specifically in the Troubleshooting instructions that some hand soaps are too thick and gel-like to work well with the dispenser. Also, I just started using it so can't comment on durability, battery life etc. I was so disappointed at first, called customer service and was about to return two that I bought, one being a present. I just thought to add a small amount of water to the soap because I noticed the soap's extreme thickness when I was emptying it. Yayy..it works great now! I have it by the kitchen sink instead of a messy bar of soap. Hope this comment helps...

While this dispenser is well constructed, it falls short in several areas. To begin with the soap spout is to close to the body of the unit and due to the sensor placement, your hand has to be virtually touching the main body and almost touching the bottom of the spout to activate the dispenser - not exactly touchless. The size of the soap reservoir compared to the overall dispenser is ridiculously small too and even on the lower settings, you'll run out of soap quickly. Finally refilling the soap is a cumbersome joke because after removing a top cover, you'll have to remove a small white cap that's practically vacuum sealed to the soap reservoir. A tiny handle on top of it is useless and gives no grip so don't be surprised if you ultimately need a screw driver to pry it off. A chime to confirm activation would have been nice too but you won't find one here. Not recommended.

I like the idea of hands free unit esp when I am handling raw meat or poultry. However I haven't been impresed with this model. The soap can drip down on to the base even if your hands are all the way under the spout. Some hand soaps do not dispense well even at highest settings. It is slow to dispense soap.
It runs through batteries like crazy. Now the power light is flashing even after I changed the batteries and refilled it. The users manual doesn't mention this under troubleshooting.
I have only had it for 2 years and already had the first one replaced when it quit entirely.

I purchased this to use in the half bath around the holiday and it is not the easiest thing to use. You have to put your hands very close on even touch the container in order to get the soap when it is supposed to be touchless. Also it is not easy to put the soap in.

We love having this in our bathroom. It dispenses just the right amount of soap. We have 2 young boys, and they would use too much soap with the pump-style hand soap dispensers. With this soap dispenser, we no longer have that problem. Also, it's easy to refill with new soap - nothing too complicated. Great product!
