The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is that I think it should be mentioned specifically in the Troubleshooting instructions that some hand soaps are too thick and gel-like to work well with the dispenser. Also, I just started using it so can't comment on durability, battery life etc. I was so disappointed at first, called customer service and was about to return two that I bought, one being a present. I just thought to add a small amount of water to the soap because I noticed the soap's extreme thickness when I was emptying it. Yayy..it works great now! I have it by the kitchen sink instead of a messy bar of soap. Hope this comment helps...

While this dispenser is well constructed, it falls short in several areas. To begin with the soap spout is to close to the body of the unit and due to the sensor placement, your hand has to be virtually touching the main body and almost touching the bottom of the spout to activate the dispenser - not exactly touchless. The size of the soap reservoir compared to the overall dispenser is ridiculously small too and even on the lower settings, you'll run out of soap quickly. Finally refilling the soap is a cumbersome joke because after removing a top cover, you'll have to remove a small white cap that's practically vacuum sealed to the soap reservoir. A tiny handle on top of it is useless and gives no grip so don't be surprised if you ultimately need a screw driver to pry it off. A chime to confirm activation would have been nice too but you won't find one here. Not recommended.

Pros: its attractive & dispenses the right amount with no waste & has a knob to control amount of soap used.
Cons: The base should be slimmer or the soap dispensing nozzle should be out further. The soap gets on the bottom of the dispenser, making it messy & needing cleaning every day.
Its not worth the expensive price when other styles that are designed better are much cheaper.

i bought this as a gift for my mother, and I was there when she used it for the first time. I have to say that it worked very well, and the sleek design helped make it a nice piece in the kitchen. The sensor is very touchy but I guess I would rather it work too well than not at all. Overall, a good item for any kitchen.

Husband didn't like at first but now wants one for his bath. :) Very nice for kitchen, laundry, bath - anywhere you don't want to touch the soap dispenser.
Pros: can use your own liquid soap, and adjust the amt that comes out by a dial.
Cons: you have to put your hand right under to catch all the soap, otherwise it can be messy, esp. for unknowing users.
