Bought 2 for my wife for Christmas. For the Living room and hall way. Plan on getting two more. It's important to note that the unit is very light sensitive. Where normal night lights may go out, these lights may remain on or display a single dim light. It all depends on where the light is placed and the amount of light in the room. Motion detector is also sensitive. For us, the light turns on as we walk down stairs. You can adjust the brightness by positing the top lid. The more light in the room the less light the unit will project. Don't be surprised to always see either a very dim single bulb lit to varying degree of brighter light with multiple bulbs.

My husband wanted it to use in the garage. Now everytime we go into the garage, the light is on. Plus it is handy to remove the light from the base and now he always knows where a portable light is.

This is great when there are young visitors in the house who are afraid of the dark. It gives a dim light (not to wake the adults) but brightens when the little ones start moving.

I am very pleased with this product. The motion detector has a wide field of view and turns the LEDs on as soon as I enter the basement hallway. It's great and much safer to see in the hallway without fumbling around in the dark to find the main light switch. The quality of construction looks good as well.

I ordered 5 of these to give as Christmas presents. They came in plain white boxes -- nothing to identify what they were. They also had no instructions or information included inside the box. I realize there probably isn't much instruction needed, but an explanation of what the light is and how it works would have been nice. I would not recommend ordering these as gifts. I was very disappointed...especially considering how expensive they were.

We needed additional light for tenant to see enough to get their key in the door outside at night without leaving outside lights on all day. The outdoor solar lights are viruatlly useless this time of year here. It is too cold to install additional outside lighting now. We plugged this into an outside (covered) outlet just outside of the door. It provides just the right amount of light to see even before the motion sensor turns on as you approach the door. Takes a minute or to to figure out how this works with no user instructions. Saves a lot of energy!

Makes it easy to go green! You can eliminate two big problems at once—turning on big overhead lights to just move through a space, and then forgetting to turn them off—with uMax. When you think of the number of times a day you flip a switch moving around the house (especially during the winter!), you quickly realize that it can add up to a lot of money. And you don’t have to sacrifice safety or convenience, since uMax turns on/off automatically when you’re in the room, and keeps one LED on at all times for extra nighttime safety.
