Works fast. I always use it for multiple course dinner parties. I can chill one bottle for appetizers, a few more during dinner and yet another to go with dessert.

We used this product once to chill a bottle of chardonnay, and when the wine was ready nearly 2 hours later; we drank the wine and we put the product in the closet with no expectation of ever using it again. Then we put another bottle of wine in the freezer and 15 minutes later we drank that bottle too.

I received this for Christmas 2012 with high hopes of those who gave it to me and of my own. I've had to return it because of these Cons:
1. It is so noisy from two rooms away, I thought my Sonos music system had static;
2. The refrigerator is far faster and quieter(example for sparkling: freezer compartment for 30 minutes or so [a timer helps to not forget] then main compartment, instead of 90+ minutes or more using it;
3. It requires a "brick" AC power setup (like computers) which isn't kitchen-friendly;
4. To maintain the temperature after opening, you're going to be listening to the noisy fan.
If the inventors can silence the fan and speed the chilling process, it might be more successful.
In the meantime, you might like the 20/20 rule:
White Wine: 20 minutes before ready to consume, take it out of your refrigerator(main compartment);
Red Wine: 20 minutes before ready to consume; put it in the refrigerator (main compartment) to get it to "room temperature" of your typical castle. Pour through your Vinturi into a Riedel glass, and enjoy!

Waited patiently for this and received it for a Christmas gift! For the moments that it worked, it was loud - but acceptable. The digital display showed an insurmountfable time considering the red wine had been stored in a resonably cool room. Before the bottle was chilled, the cooler stpped working. Will be returned promptly! So disappointed!

Overall, I have been extremely pleased with this chiller. I am also a huge fan of all Brookstone gadgets. This appliance works very well, looks great on the counter, and woes many to buying the same things. The only drawback is that it sometimes sounds like a mini dust-buster. I would recommend this to anyone. GREAT!
