This is a great case for the 1st generation iPad. It fits it perfectly and gives the iPad a nice feel as well as protection. I love that the case also becomes a stand to hold the iPad at different angles. I wish I had found this case sooner as I have owned this iPad for over two years and this is the best case I have found.

After searching for an iPad (original version) case at [...], I finally stopped at the Apple Store. Several to choose from, but the one I really liked was $100. The helpful Apple employee whispered "You should check out Brookstone, hear they have a good case for $40." Well, Brookstone happened to be right across the Apple Store, so away I went. WOW - you guys have a ton of accessories for the iPad/iPhone, even for the original iPad. This case (above) is exactly what I've been looking for! I love how it snugly fits perfectly, how it snaps closed, and most of all - the multi-angled viewing in landscape mode and sturdy base (doesn't tip over in bed). Plus, all the ports/switches are easily accessible, including the microphone (which was covered up on other cases I've tried). The slim design of this case is nice, even in portrait mode. The simulated leather is very attractive and feels nice to the touch. I highly recommend this one!

The last thing I want are scratches on my iPad screen or case. That's why I like this case. It protects both sides, plus it can be used as a stand. It's nice and slim, too—no bulk. And with the color choices, I was able to match it to my briefcase.
