I purchased this set last year as a gift for my husband. It was only this spring that we are finally getting use out of it. The biggest reason was we were having our lawn redone and the project took over two months to complete. The other reason is that it is complicated for one person to set up, so my husband did not bother while I was away for the summer. Once the fall came it seemed like more of a pain to set up/take down and we didn't have a cover for it. This spring I took the initiative and set up the frame by myself which was very easy - all of the pieces click together and it requires no tools. The hard part is stretching the hammock between the two poles. The stand tends to slide around while you're tugging the chain trying to stretch it out. That's the ONLY downside to the whole unit. The pad and pillow set we got was the Khaki Stripe/Solid set (which doesn't appear to be available this year). Since the hammock is so large, you cannot tie the pad to the spreader bars, you must attach it to the rope part of the hammock itself. We almost tore the ties right off the pad the first use because we didn't correctly factor in the amount of stretch to the rope. It is very comfortable and does help smooth out the feel of the ropes under you. The pillow just makes it that harder to leave when you're forced to do something but lay in it all day :)

I received this as a birthday gift from my girlfriend. I was really excited because I've been wanting one for years. Assembly was pretty straightforward. The directions were useless and only added unnecessary confusion. After assembly I noticed that my hammock tilted to one side. After climbing onboard I immediately hit the ground. I had to stretch the hammock out from ring to ring (bypassing the chains) before I no longer hit the ground (I'm not a big guy, only 170lbs). The hammock seriously tilts to one side even when I'm in it. I noticed the ropes leading into the spreader bar were crossed, which is causing the tilt. Not fixable without disassembling ropes so it's going back. Thanks India!

Very comfy and easy to set up. Would buy again. I weigh about 240. Had to stretch hammock out (which directions say). I have two links left on one end and none on the other - may be an issue down the road...

This is a great hammock but just too big for my backyard-16 feet! My only disappointment was that Brookstone does not let you return it to the store. Cost me a boatload of money to return via UPS.
