purchased two of these, one worked fairly well, however the buttons for the light and siren are very flimsy - one of the tools got 'stuck' with the light on and could not be turned off. basically I had to wait for the battery to run out to get the light off. Would not purchase again

It could be very difficult to use in a high stress situation. The seat belt cutter guard is very difficult to remove, even when just sitting in the driveway, getting acquainted with the device. It takes considerable force and a bit of finesse to dislodge the seat belt cutter guard. If my car was sinking into a lake, I find it hard to believe my wife or myself could stay calm enough to quickly and smoothly put the device to use to cut the seat belt. The emergency buzzer sounds off at the slightest touch when my wife was fumbling for the her keys in her purse or her back pocket. It is awfully big to carry around with my keys. I leave it in my center console. I hope I can find it when I need it. Not a lot of positives. But it's worth it if I ever need to break my window to exit the car. I hope it can actually do it...

This is one of those gadgets the average person would never really consider buying for themselves - most people probably buy this for a loved one. I would actually recommend buying one for every driver (or every adult) in your family. This thing can cut your seat belt *and* break through your car's window or windshield (if you're in an accident, say). Hopefully no one will ever need to use this tool for those purposes, but you'll sure be glad you have one of these if a bad accident happens. All the other functions (flashlight, panic button) are always very useful.

Bought this as stocking stuffer for Christmas 3 or 4 years ago. FANTASTIC. I put improves comfort above as it does via taking away a lot of anxiety just knowing I have it. Just the alarm is worth the money! Lost my dog but she knew the sound of alarm which is loud and travels far and came speed running home! Has lit up my key area on car and home many times, plus was perfect camping to walk anywhere in the dark. Have used the alarm a couple times in parking garage when nervous. GETS the needed attention instantly! Two small cons...temperature face very small - eye strain for an old gal like me. Seatbelt cutter cover has the key ring itself attached which helps to get to it easier which is both good and bad, as even though it is very tight, on three occasions, it has come off in my purse or coat pocket (must have been pulled against something else), and then the unit is no longer on my key chain, but in the bottom of my purse. (Needs a little latch to ensure it stays together unless one wants it apart for use.)
