Programmable, motion-activated security alarm.
Great for staying safe when you sleep in an unfamiliar place--just hang the device from the doorknob, and in case of intruder, the motion sensor activates the sonic alarm and emergency flashers.

Two things really put this emergency tool head and shoulders above the rest. First, it’s self-powered—you don’t need batteries, just turn the hand crank. I can’t imagine anything worse than needing an emergency tool, and finding the batteries are dead so it’s useless… Second, the security alarm feature—an absolutely fantastic idea, especially for frequent travelers, lets you sleep anywhere with real peace of mind!

I purchased three of these as gifts based on reviews and the fabulous description of the item. When I received them in the mail, I was shocked at how cheap it is made. The panic alarm is kind of a joke in that it isn't even annoying. I can't imagine it would get anyone's attention. There is a port for an AC adapter, but not one included...What?! The storage compartment could probably only house a pill and a match. The other features (it can stand on its own and has a lanyard) are something that should have alerted me to it being a piece of dung. The kicker is that I found it on the big online retailer for HALF the price....[...]. Oh, I'm a rube.

I liked the idea of being able to charge a cell phone with the 12-1 Body Guard, but upon receipt of the product this is not possible. Not possible unless you can fing a specific AC Adapter that has a USB port on the opposite side.
I also thought that the lights would be brighter.
